SERIES TITLE: ljós og rými

Photography as a medium has an ability to capture anything that’s placed in front of the camera. But what is there is nothing in front of the camera?

This series of work is an exploration into the photographic medium itself, and its ability to capture light, colour, space and nothing else. Employing minimalism and abstraction as my tools to create, I am drawn to the abstract and the ideas this work provokes as it is more tempting on a psychological/ subconscious level.

With the stripping back from the traditionalistic ideas that photography came from, these photographs are about the aesthetic and imaginative experience that are derived from viewing the work.
