Yang Liu is an emerging photographer who has a strong passion for architectural photography and the built environment. He feels a strong connection between the structure, lines, shapes and patterns of the built environment which resonate strongly with his own eye and vision as a photographer.
Yang takes inspiration in many forms – from music, books, paintings, films, travels, architects and of course other photographers. One of the most inspirational and favourite group of photographers to Yang is the famous group of the Dusseldorf School of Photography who studied under Bernd and Hiller Becher, most notably Andreas Gursky and Candida Hofer. The front on minimalist point of view and the absolute precision and finesse of these artists are things which he takes strongly to, and strives for within his own practise.
Yang also has a great passion for travel and hopes to see as much as the world as possible. Having covered chunks of both Asia and Europe, he hopes to eventually cover the rest one day!
Note: Yang's images are intended as a triptych
